About Us
The owner, Merlin Hanson, has worked on antique cars since the age of 17. In 1999 Merlin purchased his 1941 Willys MB which he drives regularly on and off road. Merlin believes that Jeeps are for driving, not for sitting in garages and car trailers. Drive your Jeep, enjoy it and it will treat you well for years to come.
Those who work for Hanson Mechanical include Izzy who specializes in paint and body prep, wiring installations and more. Peter, who helps on a variety of projects and is pulling together a Willys MB for himself. James and Richard are our two main bodymen and mechanics. James does all of our transmission work as well. Both are wizzes when it comes to working original steel as you can see in photos on our gallery or on our instagram page: https://instagram.com/hanson_mechanical_restorations/
We have vintage specialty tools, a variety of parts connections, and the experience of years of driving and caring for antique vehicles. We want the job done right, do not cut corners, and are happiest hearing about or seeing our customers driving their babies. Most of all, we build drivers, not untouchable concours show vehicles. To drive your Jeep is to show it love. (Learn More)
